When I was just a newbie, looking for my SCA vocation
Me friends said “Now lad, this choice deserves deliberation!
Though you could be a Churigeon or perhaps an Exchequer,
My friend why not choose a more frowned upon career!!”

All:
Hey yo ho! You’ll travel to foreign shores!
And keep your mind and body sound by fighting out of doors!

Leader:
True friendship and lots of beer are what we can’t live without!

All:
And when you’re an Avacal Pirate.....

Soloist 1:
That’s what the fun’s about!

Leader:
Now take Duke Sir Rorik, the Middie’s all despise him
But to Avacalians he’s a hero, we idolize him!
Its how you look at heavy fighters that makes them bad or good
and I see us as members of a drunken brotherhood!

All:
Hey yo ho! We’re extremely drunken men!
And before we drink up all the beer, we’ll send for more again!

Leader:
On occasion someone drinks too much and they’ll have to go and puke!

All:
But when you’re an Avacal Pirate.....

Soloist 2:
You don’t have to wear a suit! .............What?

I could have been a Churigeon, I like taking things apart!

Soloist 2:
I could have been a Baron, but I just have too much heart.

Soloist 3:
I could have been an Exchequer, ‘cause I’ve always been a big spender.

Soloist 4:
And me? I could’ve been a Crown contender!

Leader:
Some say that Pirates steal and should be feared and hated!
But it was really a small keg of beer! It’s been exaggerated!
We’ll never stab you in the back, we never lie or cheat.
We’re just about the nicest drunks you’d ever want to meet!

All:
Hey yo ho! It’s beer for all for one!
And we’ll let you buy us all a beer and treat you like a son!

Leader:
We’re all fighters of great skill! That’s what we’re proud to be!

All:
And when you’re an Avacal Pirate.....

Leader:
You’ll be drunk and broke like me! And have no decency!
You’ll be loyal and fair and called a square
But most importantly........
