W 43 Wondering Where the Lions Are?
Eibhear O'Seanachain
Sung To The Tune Of Wondering Where the Lion's Are
by Bruce Cockburn
Sun's up, uuh huh, looks okay
The world survives into another day
And I'm thinking about archery
Some kind of ecstasy got a hold on me.
I had another dream about lions at the door
They weren't half as frightening as they were before
Now I'm thinking about archery
Some kind of ecstasy got a hold on me.
Pikes, arrows, heavies, waves coming through
You watchin' me and I'll be watchin' you
Together in ferocity
Some kind of ecstasy got a hold on me
Up among the trees where it smells so sweet
Or down by the castle where the river used to be
I got my mind on dreams of glory
Some kind of ecstasy got a hold on me
And I'm wondering where the lions are...
I'm wondering where the lions are...
Huge black Minotaur rises off the land,
Thousands of proud warriors taking a stand,
Hoping for Valhalla and eternity
I'm sitting in the middle of this ecstasy
Young men marching, helmets shining in the sun,
Polished and precise, watching the enemy on the run
(Should be!) they got me thinking about eternity
Some kind of ecstasy got a hold on me
And I'm wondering where the lions are...
I'm wondering where the lions are...
Fighters on the verge, Archers ready to obey
One of these days we're going to sail away,
Going to sail into eternity
Some kind of ecstasy got a hold on me
And I'm wondering where the lions are...
I'm wondering where the lions are...
Notes from Eibhear
Written in celebration of Montengarde's victory at Clinton, I filked my first full song. Admittedly, I haven't had to change much, Bruce Cockburn wrote a fairly amazing song, but it needed some SCA/Montengarde touches.
