H 27 Voices In The Hall
Roweyna the Rebellious
Sung To The Tune Of Do You Hear What I Hear?
Said the Herald to the mighty Prince
Do you hear what I say?
Rumblings to the rear of the hall
Do you hear what I say?
There's the rabble, telling all their jokes,
Send your guards back to slit their throats.
Tell your guards to throw them in the moat!
Said the Bard to the populace up front
Do you hear what I say?
I'm telling tales of mighty deeds
Do you hear what I say?
Tales of wars, and ladies in distress,
These stories are some of my best.
But they're putting my voice to the test.
Said the rabble standing 'round the bar
Do you hear what I hear?
Something's going on at the front
Do you hear what I hear?
We weren't able to sit in the front rows
And there's no place else for us to go.
It's too cold to stand out in the snow.
Said the populace to the autocrat
Do you hear what we think?
Take notes for this o harried autocrat
Do you hear what we think?
A hall for courts to go on and on
Or a hall for visiting and songs
Or from the roof perhaps mics can hang along.
