LT 52 Red Ribbons
                     Lady Viridis Solari 2002

On a starry midsummer eve
In a wood of shadows, mist and night
Came a lord with hound and sword
Pursuing a doe of purest white
In shadow of a shining hill
In flowered glen beneath the moon
Wild song wound 'round fairy mound
And the air shone bright as noon

Is she not lovely
Who walks through the heather there?
This maiden bright from the courts of light
With whom no mortal can compare
And she wears ribbons, rose red ribbons
Tying three elflocks in her hair.

The young lord fell down to his knees
What can I give to make you mine?
Silver and gold are yours to hold
My heart is already thine!
Such treasures in my kingdom abound
And a mortalıs love changes like the sea
Return you here in just one year
If this ribbon reminds you yet of me

Is she not lovely
Who walks through the heather there?
This maiden bright from the courts of light
With whom no mortal can compare
And she wears ribbons, rose red ribbons
Tying two elflocks in her hair.

A weary year Iıve waited, my love
And Iıve been true to you alone
Oh maiden fair, what must I dare
To make you my very own?
A year long is but a breath to me
But a true heart is a prize rare
If you give me eternity
Iıll unbind the rest of my hair.

Is she not lovely
Who walks through the heather there?
This maiden bright from the courts of light
With whom no mortal can compare
And she wears a ribbon, a rose red ribbon
Tying the elflock in her hair.

What can mortals ken of future days?
Our children are the ones whoıll see!
A year has passed since I was asked
Now, love, will you come home with me?
³Take this last ribbon from my hand
Iım now as mortal, love, as you
Your gift to me in our sonıs eyes Iıll see
And in love forever true!
